Laying the foundations for lower cost and more efficient processing
Fortescue Metals Group expanded its operations in the Pilbara through the development of new sites within the Solomon Hub. The expansion involved construction of a new rail spur to the Solomon Mine and upgrading the existing rail mainline from Port Hedland to Christmas Creek.



Two-staged delivery
After undertaking the preliminary, bankable and detailed feasibility study phases for Solomon mine, Calibre QuadR was further engaged to provide detailed engineering design and support for the mine infrastructure development in two sages. Stage 1 encompassed the 20Mtpa firetail deposit and Stage 2 involved the 40Mtpa Kings deposit.
