Lend Lease and Department of Transport and Main Roads
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
Easing congestion in major Brisbane hub to meet community and business needs.
Collaboration key to success of $1.1b project
Collaboration was key to the success of this nationally significant $1.1b project. Working as part of the wider Integrated project team, our team sought design improvements that helped see value-for-money solutions and on-time delivery realised.
Critical link in Brisbane's road network
The Gateway Motorway is a critical link in Brisbane’s road network. It facilitates regional travel to the gateway ports and airport areas and also provides an eastern bypass of Brisbane that connects with the Bruce Highway to the north and both the M1 Pacific Highway and Logan Motorway to the south.
Stage 2 (Nudgee to Cabbage Tree Creek Bridge) achieves six lanes, with future provision for eight lanes over the northern section of the corridor. The project will improve traffic flow and safety for all road users and provide significant cost savings for freight and industry.
Our design team provided specialist input for:
- Construction Traffic Guidance Scheme development
- Temporary structural/drainage infrastructure
- Depot site development and associated intersection upgrades
