Reinvigorating the southern precinct of Double Bay
Woolworths at Double Bay is part of the Kiaora Lands Redevelopment, a joint venture between Woolworths and Woollahra Council.
This significant development for the Double Bay community incorporates Woollahra Council’s library, paved pedestrian plaza and key retail amenities including a Woolworths supermarket.

The two-storey structure includes underground parking, Level 1 retail facilities and rooftop parking. Calibre Built Environment provided structural design, as well as civil design of stormwater drainage and road design.
The structural design incorporated extensive glazing supported by structural steel which was engineered to achieve three-hour fire resistance without insulation or intumescent paint.
The site presented challenging ground conditions and is affected by flooding. As a result, the parking level was designed as an overland flow path.
