Calibre provided detailed engineering design and contract administration for the industrial estate of 19 lots, along with associated external works to upgrade intersections at Old Gympie Road and Pitt Road. A significant external drainage channels bisects the site conveying drainage flows from catchments external to the site.

As an industrial site, consideration of earthworks, drainage and water quality design was critical to ensure efficient delivery of the development. Through review of these strategies and negotiation with the local council, Calibre proposed a strategy involving one-way cross fall road, which not only assisted in reducing earthworks, but rationalised drainage and water quality devices, ultimately improving saleability of allotments.

Cost-savings were also afforded to the client in the design of the two intersections. Through negotiating requirements with local and state government agencies, our team was able to design the intersections without requiring the costly relocation of existing infrastructure including an optic fibre network.
