Mesa A Railway Project
Rio Tinto
Pilbara Region, Western Australia, Australia
Delivering infrastructure essential to increasing output.
The Mesa A Rail Project forms part of Rio Tinto’s Pilbara Iron Railways Division Railway Network and involved the construction of a 47km railway, extending the existing Robe River Deepdale Railway to the recently constructed Mesa A site. The completed railway enabled an additional 25Mtpa of iron ore to be transported from the site to Cape Lambert Port.
The project also involved development of a 760-person temporary construction camp and associated facilities required to support the infrastructure and mine construction activities.
