$30M to Fast-track Infrastructure Projects in SE Qld
Aside from the rain, Fast-tracking infrastructure projects remains the topic of most conversations in the #UrbanDevelopment & #Infrastructure space. This was certainly the case at a recent industry breakfast event hosted by the IAQ (Infrastructure Association of Queensland Inc), discussing the infrastructure strategies to catalyse recovery following the economic impacts of COVID-19.
Steven Miles, the Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning shared his vision for his portfolio. Of particular interest to the Calibre Urban Development & Infrastructure team in attendance, was the announcement of $30 million from the Building Acceleration Fund (BAF) to fast-track two infrastructure projects that will unlock land supply, job opportunities and community benefits in the south-east corner.
The breakfast also included a panel discussion with the Deputy Premier, Julieanne Alroe, Chair of Infrastructure Australia, Emma Thomas, CEO of the Sunshine Coast Council and Sue Johnson, Group Executive Queensland for Transurban.
