Our Graduate Innovation Challenge winners visit Lady Elliot Island for a Reef Immersion Program
Winners of our Graduate Innovation Challenge recently visited Lady Elliot Island for a Reef Immersion Program to assist island custodians and help restore the island’s habitat. Situated within a highly protected Great Barrier Reef Green Zone, the island is a sanctuary for more than 1200 species of marine life.
Calibre Environmental Advisor Megan Wood speaks of the team’s experience on Lady Elliot Island where they planted native species and inspected the island’s facilities which includes 80 per cent solar power, fresh water from desalination and its own treatment plant for wastewater.
A huge thank you to our team of graduates: Marisa B., Tom Bernadi, Matthew Cowcher, Ahmed Gadalla, Lachlan Galloway, Jessica Head, Nicholas Holmes, Jass Karra, Jakob Kelsall, Julia Kolyasnikova, Greg Maciejewski, Michael Mollison, Mattheu Pong, Mitch Rylands, David Touma and Megan Wood for representing Calibre on this incredible Reef Immersion Program and for helping to conserve Lady Elliot Island’s precious ecosystems.
