Security Risk Management (SRM)

The management of risk is business critical for the mitigation of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people and systems, or from external events.

We offer an established, proven, and scalable approach that includes the development of risk mitigation strategies based on:

  • an assessment of the current risk environment,
  • an assessment of the required risk environment,
  • a gap analysis, and a transition plan to achieve the desired operational risk environment.

Our approach incorporates the use of appropriate technology and practices aligned to meet the identified risk areas and required business objectives.

Our Security Risk Assessment (SRA) methodology seeks to identify the assets and resources of an organisation; identify risks and threats; existing or proposed protective security measures, and determine the effects upon the facility, the delivery of service, or users of and visitors to the facility, if threats were realised.

Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED)

CPTED’s popularity is increasing as architects, town planners, councils, developers and law enforcement include its principles and applications in developments. The aim of CPTED is to encourage the use of space by legitimate persons, while discouraging use by undesirable parties.

CPTED strategies are highly effective, unobtrusive and largely unnoticed by users.

  • Basic principles/strategies
  • Natural access control with psychological barriers to potential offenders.
  • Natural surveillance by legitimate users
  • Territorial reinforcement promote a sense of ownership by users and alienate offenders

Applications

  • CPTED can be implemented in any application involving the use of space.
  • It is especially useful for public spaces and large areas.
  • CPTED works from spaces as small as a single room to as large as an entire community.
